As some of you know, 2-8-2 Productions has been on a slight hiatus as we moved to another state and set up shop there. We previously made the decision that April 1st would be the day that we open the throttle to Notch 8 and get it all rolling again. We are doing this in two ways:
1. We have partnered with Historic Rail and they will be distributing a couple of our DVDs. The End of and Era /The Modern Age of the D&H combo will now be available to a larger audience! We appreciate all their hard work and are pleased to learn what a great organization they are.
2. A new DVD is ready to head out the door! We put off the release of CSX: Running the Rochester Sub until this time so we would have a new movie to offer for the restart date. It's coming out with a 45-day sale price of $20 which includes S&H. After that, the DVD will be $30. This DVD is 2 hours long and some highlights include:
- Some great snow scenes - this part of CSX's Chicago Line is prone to lake effect snows off Lakes Erie and Ontario. Though we didn't ever get the waist-deep snow on film, we did get trains in knee-deep snow kicking up the white swirls.
- A quick look at the hump at Frontier Yard as a slug helps push cars up the hill.
- The west end of Frontier Yard where EB crews are arriving from Cleveland, Chicago, etc. and will stop for crew changes.
- Amtrak's Empire Service trains.
- Lots of trains!

This DVD will be on sale starting April 4th.
Take care everybody.
